Welsh Bros asparagus is hand-harvested after three years of carefully nurturing the plant. Deep pistachio-green stalks are tender at the tip and slightly woody and thick towards the end. Green asparagus is mildly grassy and sweet in flavor.
Weed-suppressing cover crops of rye and Dutch white clover, along with organic compost for fertilizer has helped produce organic asparagus with the premium flavour you’ve come to know from Welsh Bros.
The Welsh family has been farming since the mid 1850’s, when Robert Welsh immigrated from Scotland to Scotland, ON (yep, you read that right!). They employ a number of workers and hand pick crops to ensure top notch quality.
